Each summer QuantNetOhio holds two workshops in support of our network.
The first workshop is a 3-day meeting for QuantNet leaders and is called the QuantNet leader Institute. This is a gathering of faculty leading the QR efforts on their campus. Leaders gather together, discuss progress, issues, and ideas. By collaborating, leaders gain new perspectives, which they can adapt to their implementation of quantitative reasoning courses.
The second workshop is a 1-day meeting for anyone involved in the implementation of quantitative reasoning courses on their campus and is called the QuantNet teaching workshop. This is a gathering of faculty, staff, and administrators working to offer effective QR courses for their students.
Three-day QuantNet leader institute — July 29–31: QUILT leaders participate in this program. The PD will focus on QR content, contexts, assessment, instructional strategies, and use of technology, as well as strategies to lead a successful QUILT. (The institute will include leadership teams from other states as well.)
One-day (6-hr) QuantNet teaching workshop — August 13: All QuantNet scholars (team leaders, team members, and individual QR instructors) in Ohio will participate in this program. The QuantNet teaching workshop will have a 1-hr, online session for a wide audience (including not just QuantNet scholars but also administrators and student advisors) followed by an in-depth 5-hr workshop for the QuantNet scholars working together as QUILTs. Out-of-state groups are invited to participate in the first hour and then follow this with local face-to-face workshops
